- Manchester is excellent for shopping and within the city centre you will find all the usual high street brands along with many exclusive bouquet style shops. The Trafford centre based just outside the city centre is home to over 230 retail outlets. Below you will find a brief guide to specific shops and shopping centres.
Manchester United Megastore
Located underneath the East Stand of Old Trafford itself the Manchester United Megastore is the place to buy all your United gifts, souvenirs, clothing and replica kits.
Manchester Arndale Centre
Located within the city centre it is the UK’s largest inner-city shopping centre and is home to 240 shops, and restaurants,
Selfridges
There are two Selfridges in Manchester one is based in the City Centre on Exchange square and one within the Trafford Centre. Selfridges is home to all major designers and brands and each store has its own food hall and eating outlets.
Harvey Nichols
Located opposite Selfridges on Exchange square, Harvey Nichols is home to all leading designer brands, spread across three floors it also has its own Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie.
The Trafford Centre
Home to over 240 shops The Trafford centre is a shopaholics paradise. It is located just off Junctions 9 and 10 of the M60 and is a short drive from Old Trafford itself. There are also regular buses from the city centre that go there. In addition to the many shops the centre is also home to a large food court, cinema and bars.
King Street
Famous street in Manchester city centre housing many designer shops and boutiques including Vivienne Westwood, Armani, DKNY, and Mulberry. .

- Manchester is home to several casinos spread across the city centre. The majority will give you instant membership provided you have ID on you.
Manchester 235
Manchester 235 is Manchester’s newest casino and is home to a Casino, 2 restaurants and their own live music venue. It is located withinThe Great Northern on Deansgate. Additionally they show all live sport from Sky Sports and Setanta.
Grosvenor Casinos
There are 4 Grosvenor Casinos based around the city centre of Manchester. One on George Street, one on Whitworth Street, one on Bury New Road and one on Regent road in Salford.

Bishops Blaize
Located near to the top of Sir Matt Busby Way, the Bishops Blaize is part of the Lloyds No 1 chain. On match days you can only gain entrance if you have a home end ticket for the game and often there will be a large queue to get inside. The pub is always very busy inside and home to more vocal members of Manchester United’s support. Good pub to visit if you like to sing before the game.
The Trafford
Again located near to the top of Sir Matt Busby Way. The Trafford is a home supporters only pub and you may have to show your match day ticket to gain entrance. Expect a short queue to get inside and a long queue to get to the bar. It is always very busy on match days and is again home to the more vocal support of United.
The Tollgate
Located just off Talbot road the Tollgate pub is around a 5 minute walk from Old Trafford and is located next to the Trafford Bar stop on the Metro Link. Although busy on Match Days it is quieter that the Blaize and Trafford and you will not have to queue to get in.
Sam Platts
Located on Trafford Wharf Road, Sam Platts is a 2 minute walk from the ground. Another pub which is full of Manchester United fans on match days. On the day of the game they put up a large marquee outside along with a bottle bar and there is usually a good atmosphere with singing pre-game. ..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Located in the Castlefield area of the city centre, Dukes is both a bar and grill. They have a wide variety of draught and bottled beers along with wine and champagne. A spacious bar it also has a large outside seating area which is excellent in Spring and Summer.
Cask
Located on Liverpool road in the Castlefield area of the city centre, Cask serves a huge variety of specialist beers and lagers, and has more varieties than any other pub in Manchester. Inside it has a cosy feel and it also houses an outside patio garden. A genuine favourite amongst locals.
The Old Monkey
Situated on Portland Street in the City Centre the Old Monkey is a Holts brewery pub, serving good value beer. Housed on two floors it is a traditional pub with plenty of seating. Popular with United supporters on Match Days.
The Old Nags Head
Situated right in the heart of the city centre on Jacksons row just off Deansgate. The old Nags head is a traditional pub serving a wide variety of beers, cask ales and lagers alongside traditional pub food.
The Old Grapes
Located on Little Quay Street again just off Deansgate, The Old Grapes is owned by Liz Dawn aka Vera Dusckworth from Coronation Street. Serving a wide variety of beers and wines inside it is very popular amongst locals.
The Moon Under Water
Is a JD Wetherspoon pub and you can find it on Deansgate. Famous for their cheap food and beer prices along with their no music policy, the Moon Under Water is very popular with football supporters. The pub itself is very spacious and is based over two floors.
Sinclairs Oyster Bar
A very traditional pub based in the Exchange Square area of Manchester close to both Selfridges and the Arndale centre. Serving a wide variety of beers and lagers alongside a traditional pub food menu, Sinclairs is often busy, particularly so on match days.
Deansgate Locks
Deansgate Locks is home to several large bars all located next to each other, including Revolution, the comedy store, Baa Bar and the Sugar Lounge. During the day they are a great place to have a quiet drink and order food, and at night it is a very busy and popular place.
Lammars
Based in The Northern Quarter area of Manchester, Lammars in an ultra trendy bar, its décor is a mix of bare brick walls and huge leather couches. Excellent for drinking both in the day and all night!
Walrus
Situated in the Northern Quarter, the décor has to be seen to be believed. Based over two floors it serves Japanese food during the day and at night the downstairs turns into a dance floor playing all the latest urban music.
Socio Rehab
Located in The Northern Quarter of Manchester, if you like cocktails then this is the place for you. They have a live DJ on at night playing the latest in house and Latin beats making this a must have visit on a night out in Manchester.
Bluu
Situated in the Northern Quarter, Bluu opened in 2004 and has got more popular by the year. Based over two floors they serve a wide variety of drinks and cocktails, and also have their own restaurant area inside.
Dry Bar
Located on Oldham Street within the Northern Quarter, Dry bar is a basic and urban feel. Originally owned by Factory records it has an infamous history with Manchester’s own Liam Gallagher being banned from the venue. A great place to have a beer before or after the game away from the crowds.
Tiger Tiger
Based in the Printworks building Tiger Tiger has six different themed bars inside spread over several floors so there is something for every drinker here. They also serve food throughout the day and evening.
